Dr. Oscar E. Perez, M.D., DLFAPA, is Board Certified in Psychiatry and Neurology and is a licensed physician in Texas and New Mexico. He is trained to address all psychiatric conditions and specializes in Addiction Psychiatry. He has been practicing for forty-five years, with forty-three of those years in El Paso, Texas. In addition to being board certified, he is a member of the American Psychiatric Association (where he is a Hispanic Representative and a Distinguished Life Fellow (DLFAPA)), Texas Medical Association, Texas Society of Psychiatric Physicians, and the Southwest Association of Hispanic American Physicians. He is currently a consultant to the Texas Medical Board.

Dr. Perez has served Active Duty Military, Veterans, and their families throughout his career in an inpatient hospital setting and outpatient clinics, understanding the unique needs required by military populations. He has been recognized by Tricare for his dedication and excellence in psychiatric services. Dr. Perez graduated from the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México. He then continued his education completing his Psychiatric Residency in Baylor College of Medicine. He specializes in Adult and Adolescent Psychiatry and is qualified to diagnose and treat all psychiatric conditions including:

Lastly, Dr. Perez and our private practice are proud partners of Project Vida Community Healthcare Clinics in El Paso, TX, with whom Dr. Perez worked to launch their first Psychiatry Residency Program which began in 2024 ; Dr. Perez and our team assist in mentoring and training Project Vida Psychiatry Residents.

Dr. Perez and our team are also affiliated with Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center El Paso, for whom we provide mentorship and training year round to their Psychiatry Residents, Physician Assistants, and Nurse Practitioners.
